We, the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM), are honored to announce our participation in the Alternative Palestinian Path Conference مؤتمر المَسار الفلسطيني البديل taking place in Madrid, Spain in October 2021. As we approach the 30th anniversary of the Madrid Conference that initiated the Oslo process, the Alternative Palestinian Path Conference represents an opportunity for Palestinians to come together to express our commitment to the liberation of Palestine and to provide a framework that forwards our national liberation struggle. We call upon Palestinian organizations and institutions globally to join us in endorsing, promoting and participating in the conference.
The Alternative Palestinian Path Conference calls upon students, youth, women’s organizations and movements, and civil and popular institutions throughout the diaspora to reclaim a leading role in our national liberation movement. By convening this conference, we hope to develop a unified popular vision reflecting the aspirations and demands of Palestinians globally, and the implementation of a concrete political program capable of addressing and confronting Zionism, heightened Arab normalization, and the challenges facing our people. Our priority remains the rebuilding of institutions and vehicles that can facilitate greater connectedness and mobilization of our people. Through this engagement, the Alternative Palestinian Path Conference symbolizes our conviction in our pending triumph as Palestinians: the overthrow of Zionism, total land restoration, and our peoples’ return.
Throughout the course of the Palestinian revolution, mass and popular participation was encouraged through national institutions and structures. These national bodies included women’s and workers’ unions, student and youth movements, social welfare collectives, and cultural institutions. These bodies were integral to the development of a collective Palestinian identity and political consciousness and the creation of representative vehicles capable of mobilizing Palestinians worldwide. It was through the mass participation of Palestinians that the Palestinian leadership earned its legitimacy and cultivated a vision and strategy for liberation. This Conference calls on all of us to reflect on this legacy and to draw on its success and learn from its failures.
Our participation in the Conference reflects our rejection of the Madrid path and its consequences, which include the creation of an unrepresentative and undemocratic Palestinian Authority, a repressive security regime responsible for suppressing all Palestinians who dare to break free from Zionist shackles, and the normalization of continued theft of our people’s lands, lives, and rights. The gatekeepers of our struggle have rendered our communities everywhere side-lined, demoralized, and unable to mobilize around a revolutionary program capable of transforming our political reality. Our only path forward requires us to return to the legacy of collective resistance, popular and democratic participation, and a revolutionary resolve for a free and just future for our people.
Finally, the Alternative Palestinian Path Conference reflects an iniative that seeks to uphold the integral role of the various segments of Palestinian society, including and especially the role of youth and women. We are committed to moving towards a new stage of struggle that emphasizes grassroots popular institutions and meaningfully recognizes the part that Palestinian youth and women should and will play in any revolutionary alternative. Our political reality demands of us that we imagine a new revolutionary alternative to break free from the shackles of the Madrid path, and to rebuild our national movement on the fundamental principles of our struggle: a free Palestine from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, the Right of Return for all Palestinian, and the democratic participation of our people in the exercise of our Right to Self-Determination.

نتشرّف في حركة الشباب الفلسطيني بالإعلان عن مشاركتنا في "مؤتمر المسار الفلسطيني البديل" الذي سيعقد في مدريد ، إسبانيا في أكتوبر 2021. مع اقتراب الذكرى الثلاثين لمؤتمر مدريد الذي كان بمثابة حجر الأساس لاتفاقية أوسلو. يُمثّل مؤتمر المسار الفلسطيني البديل فرصة للفلسطينيين للتلاقي وللتعبير عن إلتزامنا بتحرير فلسطين وتوفير إطار عمل يدفع قُدماً نضالنا التحرري الوطني. ندعو المنظمات والمؤسسات الفلسطينية في كل العالم للانضمام إلينا في تأييد المؤتمر والترويج له والمشاركة فيه.
يدعو مؤتمر "المسار الفلسطيني البديل" الطلاب والشباب والمنظمات والحركات النسائية والمؤسَّسات المدنية والشعبية في جميع أماكن الشتات لاستعادة الدور القيادي في حركة التحرر الوطني من خلال عقد هذا المؤتمر ونأمل في تطوير رؤية شعبية موحدة تعكس تطلعات ومطالب الفلسطينيين على مستوى العالم ، وتنفيذ برنامج سياسي ملموس قادر على مواجهة الصهيونية ومواجهة التطبيع الرسمي العربي المتزايد ، والتحديات التي تواجه شعبنا. تبقى أولويتنا بناء المؤسسات والأطر التي يمكن أن تُسهل التواصل والترابط والتعبئة العامة لجماهير شعبنا من خلال هذه المشاركة ، كما يرمز مؤتمر المسار الفلسطيني البديل إلى قناعتنا بانتصارنا الأكيد كفلسطينيين: الإطاحة بالصهيونية واستعادة كل أرضنا وعودة شعبنا.
طوال فترة الثورة الفلسطينية تم تشجيع المشاركة الجماهيرية والشعبية من خلال الأطر والهياكل الوطنية. تضمنت هذه الأطر والهياكل الوطنية اتحادات نسائية ونقابات عمالية وحركات طلابية وشبابية وجمعيات رعاية اجتماعية ومؤسسات ثقافية وغيرها. كانت هذه الهيئات جزءًا لا يتجزأ من تطوير الهوية الفلسطينية الجماعية والوعي السياسي وإنشاء آليات تمثيلية قادرة على حشد الفلسطينيين في جميع أنحاء العالم. من خلال المشاركة الجماهيرية للفلسطينيين اكتسبت القيادة الفلسطينية شرعيتها ووضعت رؤية واستراتيجية للتحرير. ويدعونا هذا المؤتمر جميعًا إلى التفكير في هذا الإرث والاستفادة من نجاحه والتعلم من إخفاقاته.
إن مشاركتنا في المؤتمر تعكس رفضنا لمسار مدريد وتداعياته التي تشمل إنشاء سلطة فلسطينية غير تمثيلية وغير ديمقراطية ، ونظام أمني قمعي مسؤول عن قمع كل الفلسطينيين الذين يجرؤون على التحرر من الأغلال الصهيونية ، وتطبيع سرقة أراضي شعبنا ومصادرة روحه وحقوقه. لقد عملت هذه السلطة أو ما يسمى "القيادة الفلسطينية" على تحطيم معنويات جماهير شعبنا وإلغاء دورها النضالي ومنعها من العمل على خلق برنامج ثوري قادر على تحويل واقعنا السياسي. طريقنا الوحيد إلى الأمام يتطلب منا العودة إلى إرث المقاومة الجماعية والمشاركة الشعبية والديمقراطية ، والعزم الثوري على مستقبل حر وعادل لشعبنا.
أخيرًا ، يعكس مؤتمر المسار الفلسطيني البديل مبادرة تسعى إلى دعم الدور المتكامل لمختلف شرائح المجتمع الفلسطيني ، بما في ذلك وعلى وجه الخصوص دور الشباب والنساء. نحن ملتزمون بالتحرّك نحو مرحلة جديدة من النضال تركز على المؤسسات والأطر الشعبية وتعترف بشكل هادف وواضح بالدور الذي يجب أن يلعبه الشباب والنساء الفلسطينيون في أيّ بديل ثوريّ. واقعنا السيّاسي يتطلب منا العمل على خلق بديل ثوري جديد للتحرر من قيود مسار مدريد التصفوي ، وإعادة بناء حركتنا الوطنية على المبادئ الأساسية لنضالنا: فلسطين حرّة من نهر الأردن إلى البحر الأبيض المتوسط ، حق العودة لجميع الفلسطينيين ، والمشاركة الديمقراطية لشعبنا في ممارسة حقنا في تقرير المصير.
